Privacy policy
Last updated October 20, 2026. This policy covers Live Studio (live.thedigitalthird.com), run by The Digital Third.
YouTube and Google account data
When a producer connects a YouTube account, Live Studio asks Google for permission to manage that account's YouTube live streams. It uses that access only to:
- list the account's upcoming and live broadcasts,
- create a broadcast with the title, description, privacy, latency and schedule the producer enters,
- get the stream address and key for that broadcast so the studio can stream to it, and
- read the broadcast's live chat so the producer can see it and choose comments to show on stream.
We store one refresh token, the channel's name, handle and picture, so the connection keeps working. We don't store chat history, viewer lists or anything else from the account, and we never post, comment, delete or change videos beyond creating the broadcast the producer asks for.
Live Studio's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We don't sell this data, use it for advertising, or share it with anyone.
You can disconnect at any time with Disconnect in the studio, or at myaccount.google.com/permissions. Disconnecting deletes the stored token.
Guests and viewers
Guests share their camera, microphone and the name they type, for the length of the show. If the producer records, each guest's camera and screen are recorded and stored for the producer's edit. Viewers who sign up on the viewer page give a name, email and optionally a city, used for the show only.
Where data lives
Video runs through LiveKit; data is stored with Supabase and the site is hosted on Vercel. Stream keys entered by hand stay in the producer's own browser.
